Livingston Art Association is an association of artists - beginner and experienced, young and old - based in Livingston, Scotland. The association has been in existence since 1972 and is run by members for members. The members meet regularly, both for tutored classes and general art activities.
We meet at Howden Park Centre, West Lothian's new centre for the Arts, and are accommodated in the new custom built art studios. We offer both painting and pottery, with and without tuition, to meet the needs of both beginners and more experienced artists.
If you are a complete beginner, members and tutors will give you all the support and encouragement you want. If you have been working away in private and wish to take your work further then we can provide you, as a member, with multiple opportunities to exhibit your work to the general public. We hold an Annual Exhibition for new work in the exhibition space at Howden Park Centre, and have ongoing exhibitions at other venues throughout the year.
Several professional artists have been members of the Association: John Stoa and Tom White, as well as Anne Shortreed, who was a tutor for the LAA for many years, and W T J Burton, who is still a loyal member and regularly exhibits in the Annual Exhibition. Others of our members exhibit in Edinburgh, Linlithgow, Pitlochry and many other venues.
If you are not already a member, we would love to have you as one. Please feel free to contact a member of the association if you wish information you cannot find on this site.
